Think working from home means a pay cut? Think again. In 2026, some of the best-paying jobs in America never require you to leave your house.

Remote roles in the US averaged around $132,000 a year in 2025, and the ceiling keeps climbing. At the very top sits psychiatrist, with remote telehealth listings averaging $300,000 — and 98 percent of those postings fully remote. Engineering managers pull in about $181,150, while product designers average $145,334.

Tech still dominates the leaderboard. Software engineers average $138,000, data scientists $131,200 and DevOps engineers nearly $130,000. Product managers match engineers at $138,400, and cybersecurity specialists command anywhere from $90,000 to $200,000 as companies pay a premium to protect their systems.

Even outside tech, the money is real: enterprise account executives average $140,000, and management consultants land between $120,000 and $200,000 — all from a home office.

The demand is not fading. A JobLeads survey found 47 percent of remote workers would need at least a 20 percent raise to even consider returning to the office, while 23 percent said no amount of money would bring them back. For anyone plotting a career move in 2026, the message is clear: the most lucrative commute is the one you never take.
