A group of UK schoolgirls has gone viral with a bold campaign against the adult industry. Students at The Cooper School in Bicester have launched a petition demanding a ban on school uniforms in adult films and sex shops, saying their traditional plaid kilts and blazers have been “warped by sexualization.”

The petition, created through the students’ after-school Little Feminist Book Club, has already gathered over 28,000 signatures — and it’s picking up support from lawmakers too.

“Young women and girls should not have to grow up seeing their school uniforms sexualized,” said MP Alex Davies-Jones, who works on behalf of UK exploitation victims. “I commend these pupils for speaking out about something they feel so strongly about.”

The girls say they can’t walk down the street in their suburban Oxfordshire town without being ogled, catcalled or even followed. One 15-year-old says the mere thought of wearing her pleated miniskirt outside school fills her with “fear.”

In April, the British government approved a law banning adults from pretending to be underage in adult films — but it hasn’t been enforced yet. These teens want real action, and their viral campaign is forcing the conversation.
