“Refs Let Angel Reese Get Away With It” — WNBA Officiating Firestorm Erupts
The WNBA Finals have barely begun and controversy is already boiling over. A WNBA reporter has called out Angel Reese after two back-to-back physical plays went unpunished in the Atlanta Dream’s Game 1 loss.
“Refs let Angel Reese get away with two blatant fouls, no call,” the reporter wrote — pointing to an elbow to the face and a hard block attempt that sent a player to the floor, neither reviewed by officials.
Reese started hot with an 11-point first quarter but went cold the rest of the night, shifting her energy to physical defense and 12 rebounds.
The officiating debate is now the biggest story of the Finals — and it’s only Game 1.
